The origin of
Dan Dan Noodles
Legend has it that peddlers Sichuan’s capital, Chengdu, would tie baskets to each end of their bamboo poles (dans 担) — one filled with noodles (mian 面), the other with a fragrant, spicy chili oil. This delicious streetside snack quickly became a beloved noodle dish across China and the world—and now, you can enjoy it at home in just 10 minutes!
